This guide only contains a simple flow telling players where to go next and what to pay attention to. I also won't cover unimportant things like to remind to go to the inn or stock up in towns everytime. Basically, I will only cover major objectives like to visit a major character or to get a certain Djinni (which is required if you want to have everything finished). Also, I won't tell where exactly to find certain items or how to solve riddles of how to defeat bosses or other tips like these. You should be able to work it out yourself, since this game is not that hard, and I don't want to spoil you game-wise. If you really can't solve something, just look for other guides. FLOW OF GS 1 & 2 ---------------- (001) Vale - Get beaten by Saturos and Menardi. If you don't collapse, the game will get into an infinite loop. - Look for Kraden, and let him join your company. Head to Sol Sanctum. (002) Sol Sanctum (003) Vale - After leaving, you'll be able to look for Flint, a Venus Djinni. (004) Vault - Look for Ivan so that you can continue your journey. (005) Goma Cave - Ivan will join after you try to move a stone that is blocked by some ivy at the entrance. - A Mars Djinni, Forge, joins after you battle him. (006) Bilibin - Look for Lord McCoy to learn about the Kolima Woods. - Gust, a Jupiter Djinni, joins without any battles. (007) Bilibin Barricade (008) Kolima - Get Granite, a Venus Djinni, without battling him. (009) Bilibin Cave (010) Imil - Fever (Mars) will join without a battle if you enter the cave. To do so, move the snowman near the north bridge down so that the puzzle can be solved. - Visit the house nearest to the entrance and talk to the old man, then go to the church and talk to Megan (the girl sitting there), and re-visit the house to see Mia. In the same house, get the empty bottle. It will prove iteself to be useful later on. (011) Mercury Lighthouse - Notice that you can use Mia's Ply on many suspicious places. - Sleet (Mercury) is found in a waterfall, and will join after battling. - Use your empty bottle at the fountain at the base of Mercury Lighthouse. (012) Imil (optional) - This is only optional. Go to the church if you want to see Mia bidding farewell to Megan and Justin. (013) Bilibin Cave (014) Bilibin Barricade - Use Move to pull the tree floating on water back. You'll know what that's for later. (015) Kolima Forest - You can do this part before the Mercury Lighthouse - these two procedures are swappable. (016) Tret Tree - You should find a Jupiter Djinni, Breeze, on one of its branches, if you search the place throughly. (017) Kolima Forest - Use Retreat if you don't want to waste time. (018) Bilibin Barricade - Now that Jill, the floating tree back in human form, will thank you and give you a Hard Nut. (019) Bilibin - Lord McCoy will reward you one treasure, and you'll have to select which one to have. You'll be given 4 treasure shects, and they contain, from left to right: Vail Potion Psy Crystal Water of Life (020) Kolima Bridge (021) Fuchin Temple - Djinni alert: You'll find Zephyr (Wind) inside Fuchin Falls Cave. (022) Mogall Forest - You'll have to look for Quartz, a Venus Djinni. It's not that hard to find him out! (023) Xian - Make the girl who carries water to spill it off, and use Mia's Frost on it, so that you can go get Mist, a Water Djinni. - Go to the kung fu school and use Force on the log. This will make Feizhi to come out and triggers a side quest to rescue Hsu. - Before entering Alpine Crossing, go to a lone island that can be reached by going east, then north, from the crossing. Corona, a Mars Djinni, should appear in a random battle. (024) Alpine Crossing - You know you can't help Feizhi at this moment yet, right? Head north to Atlin first. (025) Atlin - A Mercury Djinni, Spritz, should be inside the cave. - Get the Lifting Gem is your ultimate goal. (026) Lama Temple - Go look for Master Hama! Why is her name "Hamma" with double m in The Lost Age, anyway? NoA somtimes does funny things like this. (027) Alpine Crossing - Go to rescue Hsu to complete the side quest. It affects your future gameplay when you transfer the data to The Lost Age. (028) Lama Temple (029) Lamarkan Desert - In an area that consists of mostly sand, look for the Jupiter Djinni Smog. Smog will join without a battle. - After finish the area, go northwest to a lone island. Vine (Venus) will appear in a random battle. (030) Kalay - Go to Kalay Tunnel. Enter Scorch, a Mars Djinni. No need to fight. - Look for Laday Layama. She will tell you about the Shaman's Rod. - Go to the inn and talk to all people there. When you leave, you'll see a cutscene. (031) Vault - Now you have Reveal, and should be able to enter the cave and get Sap, a Venus Djinni. (032) Bilibin Cave - If you want, or if you consider a 100% game as getting all possible treasure chest open, go get some items in this cave. You should find some Water of Life and a Psy Crystal, if you can solve the puzzles with Douse (remember to equip your Douse Drop) and Reveal. (033) Vale - Welcome home! Go to Vale Cave to look for a Jupiter Djinni, Kite. - Use Whirlwind on ivy at the back of the shop. - Visit Issac and Garet's houses, and Garet's siblings, if you want. - You should have 5 Venus, 4 Mars, 5 Jupiter, 4 Mercury Djinn now. (034) Kalay Docks - Buy a ticket and go on board. (035) Tolbi Docks (036) Tolbi - Look for Ember, a Mars Djinni. - Enter Babi Palace for news about his missing. - To the west of Tolbi is a foresty area. Hail (Mercury) can be found there. (037) Kalay Docks - Enter from the north when you try to go frim Tolbi to Altimer Docks. You'll meet Ground, a Venus Djinni. He'll join without a fight. (038) Altmiller Caves - A Jupiter Djinni Squall is in the cave. - Get the Mystic Draught to save Babi. (039) Tolbi - 1st stage preparation: For the first 3 stages, put Garet, Mia and Ivan in. Give an Earth Djinni to him so that he can use Growth. There's no need to put anyone in for the last stage. - 2nd stage preparation: Put Garet in the 1st stage if you like, and Mia for the 3rd. You may just throw Ivan away to anywhere you want. - 3rd stage preparation: Mia for stage 1, Garet for stage 2, and Ivan for stage 3 if he can use Halt (Equip Halt Gem to get it). Alternatively, Give Ivan Growth (Give him a Venus Djinni) and put him in stage 4. - After the competition, look for Babi. When you can move again, go to his bedroom and take his Cloak Ball. (040) Gondowan Cave - Use this go get back to Kalay and other towns. (041) West Lunpa cave (042) Lunpa - Get through the fortress. (043) West Lunpa cave - Do not take the wagon, as you'll have to head back to Lunpa Fortress for a Mercury Djinni. - After all the conversation, head back to Lunpa Fortress. (044) Lunpa - Go to Donpa's room, and he'll give you a Mercury Djinni, Tonic. (045) West Lunpa Cave - Okay, now you're REALLY leaving. Head to Kalay. (046) Kalay - Go to see Hammet. - Bunza will tell you about the tunnel being open. Get some items there. - Get Scorch (Mars) if you didn't. (047) Gondowan Cave (048) Suhalla - Visit a house with soldiers in. Then you canproceed. (049) Suhalla Desert - Set Douse to L or R. If you see a sandstorm, enter it. Before getting blown away, use Douse, and battle Tornado Lizard so that you can pass. - At the scene where you have to fight the Storm Lizard (in the big tornado storm), look for Flash, a Mars Djinni. You'll have to use Reveal on a ledge to see a hidden stump in order to reach Flash. - Don't enter the cave due north from the Djinni, we'll go to it later. (050) Suhalla Gate - Get Dew, a Mercury Djinni. (051) Venus Lighthouse - After reaching the statue, leave. (052) Suhalla Gate (053) Suhalla Desert - Go to the pink tornado. Don't douse on it, and it'll take you to Crossbone Isle. (054) Crossbone Isle - We don't go here before now because we didn't have Carry. - Be prepared for hard bosses!!! - Bane (Venus) will join in one of the dungeons withoue battle. (055) Suhalla Desert (056) Suhalla Gate (057) Lalivero - Torch, a Mars Djinni, is found in this town. (058) Babi Lighthouse Entrance - Inside the ruins (Look for the ladders under the pillars), Luff should be found. Battle and receive! (059) Venus Lighthouse - Your objective is, of course, reach the aerie and defeat Saturos and Mernadi. It's not hard if you have all Djinn and is at about Lv 26 or above. (060) Lalivero - Take Babi's Lemurian Ship to leave. ******************************** *** END OF GOLDEN SUN PART 1 *** ******************************** (061) Data Transfer (This is not a place, really) - GS1: On the top menu, hold R + Left and press B or START. - GS2: You'll be asked if you want to transfer data at the start. (062) Venus Lighthouse (063) Suhalla Gate - KEEP USING FUME!!!!! This way all those non-Adepts will not be able to stand against you. (064) Idejima - Try leaving without Jenna, Sheba and Kraden if you want to have some funny story. (065) Dalia - Leave, and Echo (Venus) will join automatically. (066) Kandorean Temple - After finishing, go back and use Lash to reach a Mecury Djinni, Fog. (067) Shrine of the Sea God - Reach Breath, a Jupiter Djinni, and leave. (068) Dehkan Plateau - Chase Cannon and get the Pound Cube. - Cannon (Mars) will battle you before joining. (069) Indra Cavern - Get the combo summon Zagan. - Leave. Go west and continue until you see a bridge. Go to the east side of the bridge, but don't proceed to the second bridge. Instead, go to the southern forest to encounter a Venus Djinni. After the battle, Iron will join. (070) Madra - Visit Piers in the jail. - From a well-hidden entrance to Madra Catacombs, go to get Tremor Bit. (071) Madra Drawbridge (072) Osenia Cliffs (073) Yampi Desert - Blitz (Jupiter) is found on the screen after the screen of the villagers. Solve the puzzle and get to him. Fight him and he'll join. - After defeating Scorpion, go back to where the villagers are. Use Scoop on a single tile of sand to the south. (074) Alhafra - Finish Briggs. He's SUPER TOUGH! You'll have to be, say, Level 13 or 14 to finish him. And remember, Summons are your friends. - Go to the inner room of the boat. Use Tremor to shake of the bread and the wooden box. Get the bread and feed the kid who said he's hungry. Now you can access the cave near the mayor's home. (075) Yampi Desert - Once you enter, go south and head to Air's Rock. (076) Air's Rock - Learn Reveal. - After that, retreat and make your way to floor 3. A summon tablet awaits. Flora, that is. (077) Garoh - Get to Maha, and visit him again after staying at the inn (You didn't recover actually). He'll give you a Jupiter Djinni called Ether. (078) Osenia Cavern - Just southwest of the cave there is a deep green area. A Mercury Djinni Sour can be encountered in a random battle. - Enter for a stone tablet. (079) Milkasalla - Dig in the middle of the range. You can then go in the cave and come out to receive Spark, a Mars Djinni. (080) Osenia Cliffs (081) Madra Drawbridge (082) Madra - Learn about the Kibombo attack, and leave. (083) Gondowan Cliffs - Kindle (Mars) will join after a battle. (084) Naribwe (085) Kibombo Mountains (086) Kibombo - Steel (Venus) is found inside Gabomba Statue. - After getting the Black Crystal, you can leave. You can't reach deep into the catacombs yet. (087) Kibombo Mountains - Now that you have Frost, so you can get Waft (Jupiter) after a battle. (083) Gondowan Cliffs (084) Madra - Go to the mayor's house to get a Cyclone Chip. - Go to the catacombs for a summon tablet. - Go to a 2-story house and offer the old man a Healing Fungus for a Mars Djinni called Char. Jenna can now have Aura with 4 Mars Djinni. - Go outside and the thieves who stole Ivan's Shaman Rod will fight you if you transferred the data. They're very easy to beat, no problem. After what you'll get some Golden Boots. (085) East Indra Shore (Just southeast to Dehkan Plaetau) (086) Lemurian Ship - Aqua Hydra: Jenna should have Healing Aura already. Attack him using the strongest Mars summon first, then after a few turns Jenna can use Healing Aura again. This way Aqua Hydra should never be able to defeat you. - Go to power up the ship and GO! (087) Apoji Islands - You can go to Gaia Rock first if you like, but either way, You'll need Gaia's Sand to get the Jupiter Djinni here, and you'll need Sand PLUS Aqua's Parch for the summon tablet in Izumo. (088) Aqua Rock - Learn Parch. - Get Steam, a Mercury Djinni. (089) Izumo (Optional) (090) Gaia Rock - Remember to weaken the Serpent first, or else you won't be able to defeat it even when you're level 99. - Try to become at least level 26 first, so that Jenna has Serpent Fume and Sheba has Shine Plasma. That way the Serpent will easily get killed. - After the slaughter, go to the water the Serpent left behind for a Cloud Brand. (091) Izumo - Get the summon tablet in the hidden cave. - Talk to Lady Uzume, and you can get Coal, a Mars Djinni. - East to Treasure Isle and west to Sea of Time Islet you can find shallower light blue spots. Fish some rusty weapons there. You can find another 3 in the Western Sea. (092) Apoji Islands - Haze (Jupiter) will join if you can reach there... Use Sand to enter Apoji Islands Cave and you can reach there. (093) Kibombo - Enter the statue to earn Tomegathericon. - Get a Venus Djinni Mud via a hidden entrance inside the catacomb. (094) Dalia - Get Sea God's Tear. (095) Shrine of the Sea God - Use Sea God's Tear on the statue. - Get Right Prong. (096) Ankohl Ruins - Get Left Prong. (097) Tundaria Tower - Just southwest of it is a circle of mountains. Inside you may encounter a Jupiter Djinni. It's Wheeze. - A Mars Djinni, Reflux, is inside. - Get Burst Brooch, then Center Prong. Get some treasures accessible only by Burst vefore leaving. (098) E Tundaria Islet - Start the animal trading sequence now! Here, push Pengulina (and by saying push, I mean it) to Pengus to get some Pretty Stone. (099) SE Angara Islet - Trade your stone with the bird for some "very fancy neckerchief". (100) N Osenia Islet - Trade your Red Cloth with the cow for some milk. Just don't tell me that Felix doesn't even have 2 PP, as you need Sand to go there. (101) West Indra Islet - Trade your milk with the dog for ...... a turtle. (102) Sea of Time Islet - Final step: give your turtle to the lonely turtle, and he'll let you go to Islet Cave. (103) Islet Cave - Get Mold, a Venus Djinni. Finally! A Venus Djinni! (104) Alhafra - Repair the boat. Now it's time to see something really funny. - You can visit Alfafra cave if you want. Some goodies inside. (105) Champa - Feizhi will give you a Golden Ring if you have transferred data. Why does everyone like Issac? Gah! (Notice that Hsu's name also changed. Obviously the people from Nintendo of America didn't play the game throughly!) - Defeat the Salamander. - Forge the Trident! (106) Sea of Time - Remember to use the Trident (using the item menu) on the boss first. (107) Lemuria (108) Lemurian Ship - If you want to have the Mist Potion in the water, parch it and get your prize. (109) Lemuria - Try throwing Lucky Medals in the spring. If your medal lands on the innermost circle, you'll get the summon Eclipse. You can also get other good armors. - Meet Piers's uncle, then Lunpa, and after all those, meet King Hydros and get grind Stone. - Lemuria has some treasures buried down there! Use Reveal to check them. (110) Ancient Lemuria - Get Rime, a Mercury Djinni. (111) Gondowan Cliffs - Sail there, and use Grind on the stone pillar. You can go to the western part now. (112) Hesperpa Settlement - Get Tinder (Mars). (113) Shaman Villag Cave (114) Shaman Village - Go to Moapa's house. - Pass Trial Road. - Get Aroma, a Jupiter Djinni, after the battle. (115) Shaman Village Cave - Leave and find Petra, a Venus Djinni. This Djinni is in the forest northwest to a lone mountain, which is northeast from Shaman Village. A small river stream branch leading to a dead end is also not far from the place I mentioned. Look for your own way to sail there and encounter this Djinni. (116) Atteka Inlet (117) Contigo - Spend your Game Tickets here. - Near the entrance there are a pile of leaves. You won't get anything from using Reveal or Cyclone, but you'll get to have a Venus Djinni if you use Scoop in the center. (118) Jupiter Lighthouse - A Jupiter Djinni, Whorl, should be found. - Defeat Agatio and Karst, or get defeated. They are just the same. - Try to Mind Read Alex when you see him if you like... you'll see something surprising. (119) Contigo - Meet Issac's group. - Use Force on a stump to reveal a Mars Djinni Shine. (120) Atteka Inlet - With Lift, get Geode (Venus). - Go to claim your ship. - South from Jupiter Lighthouse, west from Contigo and north of Atteka Inlet lies a forest. In the gap of that forest and another that is east from it, you should find a Mars Djinni named Core. (121) SW Atteka Islet - Get one forgeable treasure. That's all. (122) Atteka Cavern - This cave is a tough one to get in. Get another summon tablet. (123) Gondowan Cliffs - We now head back to Yallam, since Issac's group has joined. This is because we now have Orb of Force - that is, if you have transferred the data. - At the south tip of Africa... I mean, Gondowan mainland (not the islands), there is a forest. A Mercury Djinni called Chill is inside. - Check if you have Iron, Sour, Wheeze, Petra, Core, and Chill. If you have them all, you now have all random encounter Djinn! (124) Yallam - Use Force on a piece of wood. Claim your prize. (125) Taopo Swamp - Get some items and a Venus Djinni, Mud. (126) Yallam (127) Gondowan Settlement - Get some items there. (128) Magma Rock - Battle Fury, a Mars Djinni, to make him join. - After learning Blaze, get a Magma Rock. (129) Loho - Blast the wall with a Magma Rock. - Get Lull, a Jupiter Djinni. (130) Angara Cavern - A Summon stone tablet is there. (131) Kalt Island - Get Gel, a Mercury Djinni. (132) Prox - Get Mold (Venus). You'll need to scoop him out after you accidentally (?) knock him over. (133) Mars Lighthouse - Get Balm, a Mercury Djinni. - Get Fugue, a Mars Djinni after fighting Agatio and Karst and place your Mars Star in the dragon's mouth. - Before fighting the final boss, Retreat. We'll go to carry out other things before going back. (134) Shaman Village - I didn't ask you to walk all the way back here... Use Teleport! It can be used on the world map! - Go to Trial Road to retreive the Jupiter Djinni Gasp that you couldn't get before without Lift. You have to battle this one. (135) Shaman Village Cave - Get Mercury Djinni Eddy. (136) Izumo - At this point you should have all but 3 (Venus, Mercury & Jupiter) Djinn, and 8 combo summon tablets that allow you to summon with 2 types of Djinn. If you don't you may want to look for guides about how to collect them. (137) Treasure Isle - Get Gale, a Jupiter Djinni. - Defeat Star Magician. Get the tablet. (138) Alhafra (139) Yampi Desert - Enter Yampi Cave and (1) Get a Venus Djinni Crystal, (2) Defeat Valukar (he's just a joke, really) (140) Apoji Islands (141) Sea of Time Islet (142) Islet Cave - Teleport, and keep going forward. - Shake a shaking statue using Tremor, then battle, and get Serac, a final Mercury Djinni. You should now have ALL Djinn. - Defeat Sentinel. (143) Contigo - Warp into Anemos Inner Sanctum. (144) Anemos Inner Sanctum - Claim the last 2 tablets. You'll need all Djinn to reach there. - You'll need to battle Dullahan, the strongest boss of Golden Sun: The Lost Age. Being level 99 doesn't neccessary mean you stand a 100% chance to win. Be wary. - After this, you should have visited all places, have all Djinn and Summons, and perhaps if you searched every town throughly, have all items. (Excluding enemy drops, you can't have them ALL.) (145) Mars Lighthouse - Finish off the last boss.
